Blue Ridge Inventors' Club (tm)- Helping members obtain protection for their intellectual property & creative works by informing them about patents, copyrights, and trademarks, and the workings of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Also entrepreneur business forums and discussions.
Original club founded in 1995 in Charlottesville by two local inventors/entrepreneurs Richard Britton and Mac Woodward. BRIC has had over 145 members who have been granted over 70 patents during those years. Quite a few in the coveted 3% arena -Pct. of patents that are used for profit and/or licensed. It has had many lectures and meetings over the years involving patent and business attorneys, patent agents, inventors and entrepreneurs. Other public and private local clubs' and organizations' members have also lectured and attended, along with the UVA Patent Foundation .
